As you probably read in this post, I'm working on a major project lately. As you'd expect, I'm pretty nauseous, & exhausted, so all other projects have been on hold for a while. Luckily, I'm not nearly as sick as I was when I was pregnant with Cooper. I'm having an ultrasound soon to confirm how far along I am, but the doctor gave me a due date of October 20. And that's Cooper's 2nd birthday. Yikes. I guess Cooper will have to learn about sharing really fast. I'm trying to come up with a name for the fetus (not a real name, just something to call him or her for now), so if anyone has any ideas let me know.
I did have a little more energy lately (or maybe I was just tired of being tired) & I made a couple aprons. The first one is adult size & the second is a kid's size. What do you think? I plan to put them on my Etsy shop soon. You may have noticed I added a link to my new Etsy shop to the right a while ago, I just didn't mention it 'cause it's a little sad right now. I do plan to add these though, and hopefully more stuff soon. And I had my first sale! Yah! I sold a set of 3 pairs of baby/toddler leg warmers. Sweet!

Spring!
The first day of spring is one thing, and the first spring day is another. The difference between them is sometimes as great as a month. ~Henry Van Dyke
It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade. ~Charles Dickens
It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so! ~Mark Twain
Okay, it doesn't feel like it, or look like it, but it's here. I started searching for Spring quotes & just couldn't stop myself. Spring is my very favorite season.
Cooper & I enjoyed some lunch out on the deck.
One last one.. I couldn't resist:
If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall. ~Nadine Stair

Relaxing with Grandma & Grandpa
John's back to working his part-time job again so Cooper & I have more alone together time than we're used to. We decided to spend a couple days with Grandma & Grandpa for something different (& for a bit of a break for me!). Grandma is nice enough to get up at the crack of dawn (she even does it when we're not there - weird) with Cooper so I can sleep in. I'm not sure who loves it more - me, Cooper, or Grandma.
Grandpa loves to give rides on his scooters & Cooper finally took a ride all the way down the block without crying!

Going green
The whole fam damily
My aunt Joeanne & her new husband Darwin celebrated their marriage this weekend. It was a St. Patrick's themed reception at a beautiful Mexican restaurant. My dad's family doesn't get together nearly enough so it was really nice to see everybody.
Unfortunately, I don't have very spectacular pictures from it - I blame the horrendous martian death flu I was suffering from (okay, it's just a cold, but it's the worst one I've ever had), the open bar, and overtired toddler with a fractured ankle who won't slow down. I didn't even manage to get a picture of Joeanne & Darwin that wasn't completely out of focus. Crap.
My mom has much better pictures on her blog.

No cast!
Saw the orthopedic guy today. Cooper has a hairline fraction in his left ankle, but doesn't need a cast, thank God! The doctor offered to put one on if I wanted (no thank you!), but didn't think it was necessary, especially since Cooper's walking is improving. Poor guy - it must be so painful! But I know a cast would be a disaster so I'm so glad it's not necessary.
Cooper's left foot
Another trip to the doctor the other day because Cooper was still limping a lot & seemed to be in pain. More x-rays, but nothing visible. They gave us instructions to keep giving him Motrin & come back again if it didn't get better.
Today the pediatrician's office called. The radiologists looked at the x-rays & found a small fracture in Cooper's ankle. We're off to the orthopedic specialist this afternoon. I hope I'm not posting a picture of my baby in a cast later today.

A post from the WORST WIFE EVER
A weekend at Grandma & Grandpa's nudist colony
We spent the weekend at Grandma & Grandpa's. From looking at all the pictures I have, you'd think they didn't wear any clothes the whole weekend (but I swear they did!). Cooper's still having trouble walking, so he mostly crawled but still had a great time.

Three recent adventures (or, maybe I should be posting more often)
Last weekend was my aunt Joeanne's surprise wedding shower. I made this oven mitt & pot holder,
and a towel cake (2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 2 wash cloths, & 2 kitchen towels):
Unfortunately, I had a very squirmy toddler on my lap for most of the shower (& when I didn't I was stuffing food in my face), so I didn't even manage to get my camera out, but you can check out my mom's blog for pictures here.
We also went to the Garfield Park Conservatory this week with moms & toddlers from our nursing moms group. It's free (can't beat that) & about 75 degrees so it's a wonderful place. Cooper liked wandering,
and checking out the fountain:
Yesterday we had a very different adventure. I took Cooper to the park to enjoy the gorgeous weather & went down the slide with him on my lap. Apparently, I didn't really listen to all those amusement park warnings to "keep your hands & feet inside the ride" & didn't make sure Cooper's feet were on my lap all the way. The rubber sole of his left shoe caught on the plastic slide & his foot or leg bent. I didn't really think anything of it at the time because it really didn't seem to bad, but he got pretty upset. By the evening we were at the doctor's office getting x-rays of his hip, knee, & foot. Luckily, nothing's broken. It looks fine & he doesn't seem bothered by anyone messing with his leg or foot, but he cries every time he puts weight on it & he really can't walk on it. The doctor thinks it's a sprain or something so he's getting Motrin every 6-8 hours & we're hoping it's better in a few days. Cooper's not pleased about being held or sitting & keeps squirming to get down, then crying because it hurts. Poor baby! I'm working on getting him to crawl instead of walking 'cause it seems much more comfortable for him, but he's not happy doing that for very long. I'm really hoping for a miraculous recovery over naptime!
